Disable space bar button?

anyone else think its a good idea? all it has to be is a red/green dot under the stop & play buttons that toggles between lock (red) and unlock (green)... or however you guys want to make it, i think blue LEDs are always better...

i only ask because i pressed the space bar instead of enter to launch a clip, in my room, thankfully, and i thought, if im over 3000 bars into into a set thats has been continuously playing, that spacebar should know not to interrupt...

I'm told there are 3rd party programs that can disable spacebar. do some searches in the tips and tricks section maybe you'll come up with it.

Or a folded-up piece of paper under the spacebar.

ive had a couple of the keys on my powerbook come popping off for no reason and it's really hard to get them back on so putting paper under them just seems like I'm asking them to pop off again

There should be a more elegant solution. A 'disable space bar' option in Live would be great.

here's one way:

activate 'sync' for one of your midi interfaces in preferences

now, after you start playback, hit the EXT button. the stop and start of the transport will be disabled until you disable the EXT. you can still punch in and out of record.

Also added that code to a new program that uses MIDIOx to translate key
combinations (Ctrl + Alt + A etc) to MIDI out.

haha for real man I have a ompaq P3 600mhz, 256mb mem laptop and it performs better, more stable than a powerbook 1.25ghz! hehee + the hardware on the powerbooks seem to fail with everybody I know. Everybody that has a mac (video/audio artists and graphic designers) regret their purchase

even pro tools runs better on a decent compatible pc
