WHY DO RECORD BUTTONS TURN GREY?

Post by cc » Wed Jul 19, 2006 6:08 pm

Hola,

I'm about 80% done w/ a song... Suddenly, the record buttons on a bunch of tracks won't let me activate them for record. The tracks turned grey and when I click on the record buttons, they don't turn red. They just turn another color of grey.

Hmmmm. I don't think that it is a bug---I'm pretty sure that Live is trying to help/protect me from doing something stupid....but what?

wubbuh wubbuh,
Craig
Switching from performing musician to studio dude...big learning curve, but I'm determined to become fluent in this electronic/recording world even if I'm slow as a brick.

my guess is that you've lost the input to those tracks? like disabled those inputs on your soundcard or something?

That's probably it

live FREQUENTLY decides the motu isn't there and goes to internal coreaudio/no input.

could care less about what's causing it....easy enough to remedy, but that is a good place to start.

it normally does that if you start Live before switching on the Motu.
