No selection tool in Live 6

Post by Goran@Irrupt » Sat Jul 29, 2006 11:37 am

excuse me guys, is there a way to select two or more audio parts in arrangement view. i mean, only audio, not a time part that goes with it.
i tried holding ctrl, alt, shift... nothing helped. i was always hoping that live will finally get a selection tool so we can do this easily as in any other audio software i've tried.
oh, and i was also hoping for automatic crossfade curves to show up when you put one audio part over another. but that's another story, mentioned in another topic...

those two features i want all the way back from L2 time.

If track view is open, you can select whatever you want...

maybe i wasn't clear enough...
split a song in the arrangement view in three parts. how do you select only parts one and three, to move them together, for example?

In this specific case: Select part two and "Delete Time".

in that specific case i'd get parts one and three glued together. that's not what i wanted. i wanna sellect as many parts as i want and move them (and only them!) wherever i need them to be mooved. i do this often when i want to make a verse longer for example, and i already have made a perfectly good chorus which follows, and i don't wanna ruin the arrangement, just want to make more space for the verse. in every other DAW i would select the chorus and mooved it. in live, you can only select a time part of the arrangement which is not good because sometimes i have samples which are starting during the verse and continues into chorus. those samples will be cut with the time selection...
nevermind, i guess it still can not be done.

Sorry, I mistook "move together" for "glue together".
Could be you're right and it can't be done the way you want...
