rewire problems with pro tools (macintosh os x)

Post by frankieballsss » Tue Aug 26, 2003 10:59 pm

i keep on getting all types of "the operation held off for too long, try increasing buffer setting" errors. I tryed every combo of bufffer settings and it still shows up with this error rather constantly. I have a powerful mac computer that should be able to run rewire with pro tools flawlessly (single 1.25ghz 512rm 80gb) and am rather confused on why this keeps on happening? Could this be a rewire bug with my computer specs?

HELP PLEASE!

I have the same machine and the exact same problem. Both Digi and M-audio have been unable to offer suggestions. Anyone?

What version of Mac OS X are you running? If Jaguar, make sure it is 10.2.6 (and make sure it is the combo update which is like 86mb, not the regular update which is only 6mb).

This is almost certainly a problem on the Pro-Tools side since they have just recently implemented this in Pro-Tools version 6.1 and doesn't seem to be working quite right with any rewire application.

To test this, rewire Reason into Live and see if that works (or Live into Logic or something) and then try Reason into Pro-Tools and I bet you get the same problem!
