Problem with Samples in Impulse

Post by syl » Fri Aug 18, 2006 10:35 pm

Hi,

when i load drum samples into impulse they sound different from how they sound when you click on them in the file browser. they have way more attack. i uploaded a kickdrum as an example. the first one is how it sounds normally and the second one is how it sounds in the impulse:

Try to open your samples on a empty impulse,i mean open impulse with out preset kits, and then load your samples.

Also, Impulse applies a Decay envelope to your sounds. That may be what you're hearing - that it's cutting the ends off your sounds. There's a knob to adjust it.
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

Files sound different in the browser because they are probably warped by default.
If you want unwarped samples in the browser. Then go the preferences and change the default to "unwarped one-shots".
