Live and tascam1884

I'm thinking about getting live 5 and I am trying the demo of live 5 with the tascam 1884. I cannot get the tascam 1884 to be recognized by live 5 .
Do I need to do some kid of set up for it to work. I have set it up in the preference with unabling the control port and the mackie control thing .

Am I missing something. I would really want to have my tascam mapped to any fader that is on the live session and be at least able to control the faders and have automation.

Does anyone know or could direct me on what to do to make this work seemlessly.

I have Tascam Fw1884 with a Powerbook g4 1,67 ghz 2giga ram... in live 5.2 the mixer works grate... but there is a bug in live 6 runing in Os X that makes the comunication from live to the mixer faild
