Can this be done or does it even make sense? I would like to do the following:
1) Use Live as a sequencer that records MIDI events entered with my Ozonic keyboard.
2) Have these MIDI tracks return to my Ozonic through the firewire and out it's MIDI OUT to then control/play my Roland SC-88 sound module.
3) Have the sound module's resulting audio play through my Ozonic mixed with audio and other MIDI tracks coming from Live through my Sound Blaster Audigy sound card and out to my amplifier.
This way I figure I could compose without using as much computer resources. Later on...once I feel the piece is ready, I then could have those MIDI tracks record as audio in Live or play back in the software-syth domain. I don't have a good software synth right now but I still love the hundreds of sounds in my SC-88. I'm having trouble getting started. Could someone please advise how to set up Live and my Ozonic keyboard/interface to make this work?
Thanks,
Troy.
