Yo that Kiwi is sick ass hell with the touch of a sample from some female. Did you do the production from Live. What equipment are you working with. I trying to learn the ends and outs of the program so I can make hot tracks like "Kiwi." Maybe u can help me out with some of the features in Live. Other than that God, keep up the good work and hit me back up.

Nice to hear you like it... Thanks

Actually I made the whole track in FL Studio, I Use live to (record, arrange etc.) mix the tracks
but I havent com so far with Kiwi yet, (I realy like Live's automation possibilties but the beatprograming is kick ass nice in FL Studio (I think)... The important thing is not wich program, but that it is all in your mind, that the program you use does the things you need it to do and that you feel comfortably working with it (I try to constantly remember that).....
I'm No old "Live-fox" but I think It's a pretty straight forward program.
If you know how: Timestretch, Automation, Session view works you have come quaiet far (arrange view and routing is simple).

With FL Studio, Live and NI Kontakt I can basicly do everything I want to...
So thats a trio I warmly can recomend (not to expensive to).

Some goodies (plugins) that makes life a little easier, ex. Ohmforce Ohmboyz (delay), Predatohm (dist), OtiumFX Sonitex STX1260 (vinyl).

Equipment I use:

PC 3.0GHz - Soundcard: Creamware Pulsar - Speakers: Behringer B2031 A - Keyboard: M-Audio Axiom 49 - Microphone: GA Project TC1 -
Mixer: Behringer MX1604A - LPplayer: Stanton STR820 -
Body Soul & Spirit with Love, Passion, Fantasy & Ispiration
(otherwise I hope I take a break)! :D

So in the pic is your set up? Looks tight to me. I also have fruity Loops Studio 6 and I was wondering is there a way to sample shits. Loop the shits, and do whatever else. Like if I take a song, an old track from the 70's, can i take that sample into FL and chop it up? Right now I have some turntables and some LP's, Motif Rack ES and of course Ableton and FL. So I'm tryging to make hot sounds as well as u. Hit me back up

Do you get ur samples from the turntable and dump it into FL as audio? If so, how is it done? If it's possible, I'm keeping my turntables and my LP collections.

Thanks again

Ok...

If you will use a loop:

I suggest that you record your sample(s) in Live, where you can loop and fixate the hitpoints of the sample(s) with timestretch... so it locks to the metronome and not start drifting in relation to the tempo.
Then you can import it into FL (or keep it in Live and work the song up in there (I think it's a little messy to work with 2 programs at the same time dough)) and drag the sample to the audiowindow in playlist and set the tempo (tip: when you change the tempo in FL you will see how the loop will align up with the grid in the audiowindow).

If you will chop up a loop:

I use Propellerheads ReCycle to do this (specially good for drums)... I dont feel comfortable working with the FL choper and in ReCycle you have a function where you can "stretch" (fade) the end of a sample(s) cousing it not to stop abruptly and sounding choped.

Crossfade loop:

If you have for example a instrumentsample of a chord or tone that you would like to extend and fade out for a smother sounding sample, try to use a crossfadeloop tool (I use NI Kontakt or Soundforge for this) to loop the end of the sample (can sound little unnatural... you have to experiment with the looppoints) then fade out the endloop.

:D
If you have bought FL Studio there is some nice tutorials on their website:

You have a soundcard right? :D

Then you choose a chanel in the mixer in FL (or Live) ... In the input box (in the mixer in FL) for your choosen chanel, you select your soundcards inputs

1* in the dialog box choose where to store your recording (if it's not showing up press the "floppydisk icon in that chanel) see that you have a signal and then press rec in FL...................................

2* With FL6 you can insert the plugin "edison" into your choosen chanel and record, cut & edit it in there ... then press the button far to the right (looks like an uparrow + something) in edison and drag it to the step sequencer or playlist

TIP: in the FL mixer on the masterchanel you see a knob above the "FX" sign/button .... with this knob you can set the rec volume going out from FL from your choosen chanel (it don affect the recording volume)
