Hello, I've read the issues with the Live 5 library and installing Live 6, but I still don't understand what I'm supposed to do. The problem I'm having is I cannot get Live 6 to upgrade the existing Live 5 library. I've submitted tech support requests and I'm getting NOWHERE with Ableton tech support. When I initially installed, Live 6 upgraded the Live 5 library, but then crashed during the unlock process. Then when I launched Live 6 again, it prompted me to choose an empty directory to install the new library...so I presume something about the library that it upgraded was corrupt. So I chose a new directory, and Live 6 just created some empty folders and nothing got installed in there. This was using the Live 6.0.1 update.
Today I got my Live 6 box package which has Live 6.0 on it. I installed that and ran it, and again it prompted to install the Library to an empty directory, but then did nothing but install some empty folder.
SO:
How do I reset Live 6 so it will either upgrade my Live 5 library, or install its new Live 6 library? Is there a pref I can delete somewhere or something?
Lastly, unlock online does not work with Live 6 at all. Crashes with a spinning beachball everytime. I did the manual unlock process on the web site tho', but just repeating the fact (I told tech support in my email) that unlock online in the Live 6 app (6.0 or 6.0.1) does not work.
Thanks,
Bryan

Hi,
please try the following:
Start Live 6, go the the preferences, tab file&folder
and select the Library that was initially upgraded
as the new Library.
If this does not work, you can force Live to do
repeat the installation by removing the prefrences
folder (*not* just the file Preferences.cfg).
~/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live 6.0.1/
Also, I would be interested in the crash-log of the
crash you mention. It is the file
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Live.crash.log
You can send it to [email protected]
Best regards, Friedemann
