2 issues -Quicktime .mov & multi core not turning on

Dell core duo laptop and Live 6 w/ Motu Traveler.......WTF is the difference between .mov and another .mov they are both .mov GoooddddamnItttt.........One will load and 1 won't. I started with loading an Mpeg movie clip into Quicktime and saving it as .Mov but it won't load into Ableton 6...error (0) quicktime can't decode ...but I can download a porno .mov from a website and that bitch loads. What's up ????my other issue is that multicore support won't activate in preferences. WTF....I even downloaded the demo version to see if it was my original copie thats f**ked but the demo didn't work either....what's up ? Please..HHHHEEEELLLLPPPP. don't tell me single processor because it says MULTI CORE also....????? WHAT DO I NEED AND WHAT DO I NEED TO DO ? working all day on this shit...
