strange midi delay problem live 6 when grouping

Post by markaugust » Sun Oct 08, 2006 6:39 pm

when I group stuff to one channel; I have random delays on random channels; which were perfect in sync if not sent to the groupchannel.
never had it in 5, now on the most various of occasions.

weird!!!???!!!

anyone else having it?

I have a similar problem.

In my project I have 3 group channels to group bass, drums and synths.
I also have an extra group channel which I use as a "pre-master buss".
Anything that doesn't go into one of the 3 group channels, goes to the pre-master buss, and the group channels themselves are routed to the pre-master buss aswell.

The thing is, that the drums group is not in sync with the rest. it's slighly delayed.
Now, I can "fix" this a couple of ways:

1) I delete the pre-master buss, and route everything that was routed to this channel to the master channel instead.
I.E, I don't use the "pre-master buss".

Or...

2) I remove all the vst's placed on the master channel, when using any vst fx on the master channel, the delay is back again, strangely enough, the internal fx of ableton don't cause this delay when inserted on the master channel.

Weird...

Such delays often result from feedback routings (for example if you would route a group track somehow back to one of the channels).
Maybe you created a feedback routing, possibly by accident?
