The current MIDI devices in Live are awesome, especially when combined (arp+scale is a personal favorite.) It's getting alarmingly close to the level of functionality I enjoyed in Logic's environment window, but way easier to understand and control.
One thing I really miss is the general-purpose "Transform" object in Logic, which let you select certain kinds of events and do something to them. For example, it'd be cool to have a MIDI sequence playing on track A and also routed to track B, but I only want track B to respond to a certain note. A "MIDI Utililty" device on track B could be set to just pass events for C#1 or whatever. Concrete example: wanting to double a kick sound.
A MIDI delay device would be incredibly useful too. If it had feedback, it could be used to generate flams and rolls. With feedback turned off, it could be sequenced to add a bit of rhythmic variation.
more MIDI "utility" devices would be nice
I'm with you for more midi plugins. Delay with feedback has been on my list.
Note that you can already implement delays without feedback by using 2 note length effects. First one sets delay time, second one set to trigger on "note off".
That's one of my favorite in L6. You can stack several delays in a rack with individual tuning and get multitap delay, short step sequencer ....
I'd like to get feedback within midi racks for crazy effects
