live 6 crashes when consolidating clips

i am trying to consolidate two clips together and live has crashed at least 15 times while doing so. i don't know if it has to do with the fact that there is video present in the file (i'm not consolidating video, though) or what. but it's driving me nuts. i'm running osx 10.4.4, on a g5 quadcore.

when you render...you should render at a different bit dept..... 16 wav. that schould do the trick

i'm not rendering tracks, i'm consolidating clips. apple + j or whatever the hotkey is for windows. it combines two or more selected audio files into one. it crashes every single time i try it, if there happens to be a video track in the same project file
