VST plugins have to be VST version 2.4 not 2.3 which has caused a few plugins not to work for me (e.g. Orca).

Additionally, I downloaded the Magical 8 bit plugin the other day (http://www.ymck.net/english/download/index.html) and that didn't get picked up by Live 5.2.2 on my MacBook. However, I'm not sure if non-UB AU plugins should work or not so I was waiting to do some more research before posting a bug report or not!

i'm 99% sure that regardless of platform (vst/au), it needs to be compiled as a universal binary plugin.

the link for the 8bit plug u provided does not appear to make any mention of a universal binary version. so it's fair to assume this is for power pc (g4 / g5) computers only...
