Ok, so I had a faily untaxing arrangement I was trying to do a mix of and I couldn't get the thing to stop clicking and showing HD overload... I tried dropping clips into RAM, freezing them and didn't make a difference.
Then I realised I had quite few bits in the arrangement which were riffs made of single note clips end to end, loads of editing. So I consolidated these sections and it now plays fine....
What I want to know is how come freeze didn't fix this? Surely it is doing nothing more than I just did by consolidating? making into 1 file and stopping ableton having to read little bits from all over the place.
