Where do i place the 3m Bumpon on the MSP5A?
Where do i place the 3m Bumpon on the MSP5A?
Hi i just got my MSP5A powered monitors. They came with a couple of Bumpon stickers for each speaker. Does anyone have a clue to where i should stick them? The manual doesn't mention anything. If it's up to me, what is the ideal location?
Thanks
Thanks

I guess they can only really go on the underside, one in each corn to help kill vibrations. They probably leave these off as some people will have spikes or spiked stands..lowmax wrote:Hi i just got my MSP5A powered monitors. They came with a couple of Bumpon stickers for each speaker. Yes that's what i thought, the problem is that it came with just 2 small rectangular stickers for each speaker. So one in each corner won't be possible.punkdISCO wrote:I guess they can only really go on the underside, one in each corn to help kill vibrations. Ah, okay.. My only guess would now be that there should be 8 but they left some out. Maybe just buy some more or email Yamaha.lowmax wrote:Yes that's what i thought, the problem is that it came with just 2 small rectangular stickers for each speaker. So one in each corner won't be possible.
I have my monitors just sitting on shelves without any damping. Probably not ideal but seems to be okay..
Good luck.

lowmax,
Or you could just leave them off and get something like this:
http://www.auralex.com/sound_isolation_ ... _mopad.asp
They're basically foam blocks that decouple the speakerbox from the desk. They cut vibration but also keep the surface they rest on from resonating so your bass responce isn't messed with. If you can find some dense foam blocks they will work just as well as buying these.
