The VST to ReWire adapter is an adapter that allows VSTi plug-ins to be plugged in to ReWire hosts that do not otherwise support VSTi. Prime examples are Pro Tools 6 and Ableton Live.

We do not at this point have plans for an adapter the other way (allowing ReWire slave apps to plug in to a VST application that does not otherwise support ReWire), I don't think it would be all that difficult but I'm unsure if there's need for such a thing.

Does that include the possibility to somehow send MIDI notes to a rewired VSTi, even though Ableton Live doesn't support any MIDI note recording/playback/editing?

Yes, you can send it MIDI from your computer's MIDI in ports. It's also handy if you want to use automatic beat machines - BFD and the like - with Live. But it's *primarily* for Pro Tools 6 users."
