CPU Usage Simulator & Plug In Buffer Size. what's yours set,

Post by D DAS » Mon Nov 13, 2006 12:54 am

just wondering what you set yours at.

the default for the CPU Usage Simulator is 50% , what is this for and what should it be at, should it be bumped up to 80%

the plug in buffer size is at 128 by default, suggestions on this setting and why?

aloha

Here is an explanation, 15 years later... :D

The CPU usage simulator is a diagnostic tool to simulate how your computer behaves when Live demands a lot from your CPU.

The CPU simulator only kicks in when you activate the Test Tone to 'on' in the same area on the page.

Give it a try - turn the test tone on, and observe how the CPU meter in the top right of live (between MIDI and 'D') hits the exact value specified in the CPU usage simulator.
