i was leafing through the new "sound & recording" magazine (japanese publication), and there was a nice spread on the alva noto/ryuichi sakamoto concert set-up.
i always assumed alva noto used max/msp to make his sounds, but was interested to discover that he also uses live 5 synced as the other half of his double-powerbook audio set-up.
it would be amazing if ableton could do an artist interview with him and how he uses live.

I saw them a few weeks ago, it seemed to me like he was controlling the visuals more than the audio stuff.

If you get a chance you really should see this show, it's probably the best mix of music/video art i've seen.

max/msp works rather seamlessly with live.. live makes for a wonderfull sequencing interface for the max/msp (and hell even jitter too) world. Im not that surprised he uses it..

yeah, the syncing looked very smooth. 2xg4 powerbooks, one running live, the other max/msp, and midi controller for each. then below the desk, a g5 imac running jitter and midi controllers for that too...plus audio from sakamotos piano going in to the mix too for processing.
id love to see/hear them live, but they play mostly europe, not japan....
