First tracks . . .

Post by HitchHiker » Mon Nov 20, 2006 8:26 am

Hi, this is my first foray into this community and I'm going to take a rather brave step and let you all listen to my best attempt so far :)

You can tell I'm not up to ameteur level yet but I've been playing around with eJay and now Ableton for a few months on and off.

This track is the one I feel, is the best I've done but I'm probably setting myself up for a roasting. It's mostly eJay samples in Ableton.

I've created a MySpace account - http://www.myspace.com/andrewmoore2
I'm still not sure about the drum/clap track. Might have to change that.

There's another track on there too, Mellow, which I did before Dance with Heart.

Anyway, let me know what you think.

Had some problems with MySpace, so I've added the tracks to my website at http://andyjmoore.co.uk/

Are they made totally using Live?

Thanks Sega :D

They both use eJay samples, Mellow was composed in eJay and then converted to Ableton 'cos it sounds a whole lot better in Ableton.
Dance with Heart was composed in Ableton.

Really good, excellent. Add in a kick and some compression and its as good as loads of those "Euphoria" tunes I reckon, honestly.
I would have a bit half way through when you've just got the lead part on its own with a bar or two of silence, then bring the rest back in again and you'e got a hit! It does need some beefier drums and bassline though, but thats easy enough!

Changed Dance With Heart a little bit.
Exchanged the drum track for something a little less clappy and a bit more bassy. Added a background Midi track and brought the volume on the heart beat up a bit.
Added a volume drop out effect near the end.

Mellow is my favourite, nice and simple and chills things down a treat :D

I've started a new track called March. Not yet finished though.
What do you think so far?
