Automation Question..

Post by Chris Luzz » Tue Nov 28, 2006 5:34 am

I'm having trouble automating the cutoff in Ableton 6.0 with Cakewalks Rapture vst. There's no option to select to automate the cut off and I can't even record the automation either. I was wondering if there was any way i could get around this, so I could automate any knob in any vst too. I'm sure theres something you can do, just don't know what. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

im having the same problem. i figured the actual vsti has to have a midi learn function ala NI's instruments in order for this to work but i definitely hope im wrong. there should be a way to manually assign CC numbers or something.

Can't you just select the plug in the clip envelope, select the parameter and draw the envelope? Note that the param usually first have to be turned way down in the VST.

Also all VST parameters are open to Live's own midi mapping (not CCs though, only for external hardware control) by unfolding the default VST interface by clicking on the yellow triangle in the upper left corner of Live's VST interface.
