which midi keyboard for music production aplications?

Post by plexiglass » Thu Nov 30, 2006 3:05 pm

i'm looking for a solid midi keyboard with controller to use with software aplications like logic, reason, cubase or live...

is m-audio axiom series a good choice or there is something better in its price range? (if axiom will be the best choice, which model should i get?)

I'd go for either an axiom 25 or a Novation Remote 25.

Both well built with plenty of midi assignment possibilities, in particular the Remote 25.

I'd buy a 25 key cos i'm no pianist, more off a thump a bassline outist or trigger samplist!

Another option would be the Korg micro kontrol which is very solid as well.

try them out, there's probably a big difference in quality of key action (i regret buying evolution 249c for this reason)

the CME range are also very good, as an alternative to the axiom, i would only choose one of these two ranges.

On the axiom models i beleive i would go for the 49 and upwards as this one has the pads on it.

cool, i thought it didnt

in that case, i would go for the 25, as im a bit of a bassline player, and cant do the whole 2 hand thing. And i only use it to find the right bassline before i program it in on the matrix edit instead of playing it.
