Hi guys,
Does anyone have any knowledge of using Roland V-Drums with Live's Impulse sampler?
Basically when I load Impulse the MIDI signals from the controller drum kit do not align to the Octave 3 of Impulse (which is the default assignment for the samples in Impulse, it seems.) The MIDI data is going through Live but it's not assigned to my drum hit samples in Impulse. V-Drums's signal comes in around Octave 1 of the MIDI in Live. The only thing i've tried that works is using RM4 as a soft sampler, but it's a bit of a pain when you should be able to use Impulse for this as you can with a MIDI keyboard etc.
If anyone has any ideas or help i'd appreciate it. Cheers

Try inserting a scale MIDI effect infront of inpulse. Use this to transpose up a couple of octaves so the incoming MIDI matches inpulse. If the V drums are transmitting on the black keys, you can use the matrix on this plug to convert them into white keys (impulse doesn't respond to sharps and flats).
Or, you can probably change the MIDI output from the v drum brain, but I don't have one, so can't help there.

yeah you can change the output in the brain.
on the td 12 (and very similar on td 10)
under drumkit, press instrument
then f4 (control) under the display
then f3 (midi)
hit the drumpad that you'd like to configure and it should display it on the screen (ie tom, crash, etc)
use the cursor to arrow down to "note no."
dial in the note you'd like to transmit with the jog wheel.
repeat with the rest of the drums.
save as a template and you should be good.
