can impulse slots be mapped to midi?

I remember being able to do this with 5, but since I've upgraded i cant. Im not sure if im missing something here. How do you map the 8 slots of impulse to a midi pad controller? please help me!!

The slots in Impulse are assigned to the following MIDI notes:
60, 62, 64, 65, 67, 69, 71, 72,

You have to set the pads on your controller to those notes. I had to manually set up my Axiom this way.
