Novation Remote Zero SL

Post by mok » Thu Dec 14, 2006 12:10 am

hi guys,

does anyone have this baby?
i´m thinking about getting one the next two weeks, and i would like to hear some voices about it before - anyone uses one with live 6, on a mac? how is the automapping feature? do you find it usefull, playing live or working in the studio?
and which other midi-controllers besides the ue-33 are out there for about 300 euros?
thanx for your help guys,

cheers, mark

there are 3 million threads on this thing, start with the tips n tricks sticky, lots has been said, overall, it's a very sexy unit.

to be fair, none of those 3 million had the name of the device in the thread title

True, nothing gets my goat more than someone posting a
SL25 - how do you like it
or
Remote SL - Just got it and it rocks
or the really hated
Novation RemoteSL25 - I have one, you need one

as mok so elegantly put it, it's called
Novation Remote <model number> SL.

Searching on the device only brings up 37 pages of replies, not much info there.

yeah the search function is crap.

I have a zero sl, have to say it lives up to expectations both live and in the studio. Small faders quite fiddly but they are very precise.

well, just my 2 cents but my buddy has one, loves it, automapping works great. The knobs are small, but well spaced so getting at them is easy. I like the led screens that display data about what you're doing in Ableton.
The faders, though small are quite accurate, the above poster is right.
Pads are responsive and the transport controls do what you'd expect. I'm looking at getting one. 8O
