Help! Ableton + Mackie Onyx Firewire --> EQ question
Help! Ableton + Mackie Onyx Firewire --> EQ question
I am running signals throught my Mackie Onyx mixer to Ableton via the Mackie onyx firewire card.
I'm having one problem. The signal is clean. When I change the EQ settings they are not recieved by Ableton. The EQ is bypassed.
If anybody is familiar with this set up please fill me in!

Ahhh Nevermind.
It appears that the Mackie Onyx mixer is sent throught the firewire pre-fader.
To me this seems ludicris but I guess some might disagree.
It also looks like if you are in the same position there is a way to make the modification to enable post fader settings to be sent through the firewire.
Here's one place that does it.

I'm sure about the fee yet.

They are intended for live playing. Thats what I use it for. Its ok to tweek the eq later anyways. But it WOULD be nice to do this, and I cant see why they havent made it so...WebSite! wrote:shit!!! i really can not believe this!![]()

you guys are truly dumb.
This is a well known issue w/ the mackies. you should have done your homework.
Go back to school, you smart dummies.

Its no big concern for me actualy. When im out jaming/recording, id like to have the recorded tracks unprocessed. Because eq settings on the fly is not optimal, and you cant go back once its recorded. So this is the way I use it anyway. But it should be possible without buying 3rd part software. That sucks.Rogue Scrunt wrote:onyx is a great mixer. i would havr bought one were it not for the pre eq issue.
