ProTools Rewire

Hi,

When I first installed Ableton live, it came up with a message saying that the Live audio and ReWire engine was successfully installed and that I need to choose an audio device. Well and good, and Live works ok on it's own, but...

I tried opening ProTools first, then Live (I think it needs to be done in that order), I get this message:

"Live has detected antoher active ReWire master application. no ReWire slave applications will be available for use with Live unless you quite the current ReWire master application and restart Live."

I've added Ableton Live as an insert on a ProTools audio channel and selected the Mix L - R channel. But Live doesn't seem to synch with ProTools and it doesn't play back through rewire.

I tried deleting the preferences.cfg file and I also tried re-installing.

What am I missing?

Hello there,

To run live as a rewire slave with pro tools as rewire master you need to follow these steps:

1- Open pro tools
2- insert live plugin on a stereo auxilary track
3- choose your rewire channel (for example mix-l/mix -r)

and then ....

4- open live !

This should actually work...
