No vsts coming up on mac

Post by Gyro » Wed Dec 27, 2006 7:52 am

Hi I'm trying to use some vsts on a mac, and it isn't detecting them... can anyone think of why this might be? Is there anything that would need to be done to enable vsts on macs?

I have done all the basis, like choose the right folder that they are in, and make sure that they are mac compatible, but it isn't working

The default VST folder is Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST
Put your .vst in that folder, and tell Live to "use the default plugins folder"

and, in case you have an intelmac, make shure the vst`s are universal binary.

I've had the same problem - additionally, VSTs that I used earlier seem to have disappeared (which means that some tracks I had almost completed now are missing their fundamental drum parts, etc.... a real bitch).

I'm also having trouble setting an additional folder for VST plug-ins; Live simply won't let me. It's very confusing.

If I remember, on OSX you can't have a custom folder- they'll always be in the default folder that the_planet mentioned. I could be wrong, though- I'm not a Mac user...

You are. At least when it comes to VSTs. You indeed can not have a custom AU folder.
