live 3.0 quits on launching a set saved on another computer
Hello,
I don't know if this is a known issue, here's the story:
I built a set in Live 3.0 on my computer, saved it self contained on an external hard drive and tried to open it on a laptop holding an authorized version of live 3.0.
Live quits (crashed) on launching.
As I had used Live's built in fx WITH PERSONNAL TEMPLATES (I had built some chords with resonator matching the harmony of the tunes) I thought this was the problem...
I deleted these templates on my computer, saved the set self contained again, and it opened easily on the other laptop I was using.
This is annoying since it means that templates for live built-in effects cannot be saved with a set... and not only do you loose these templates, you also make your saved set impossible to reopen on a machine which does not have the same saved templates...!!!!!
Unless there is a way to save these templates and export them to another Live application... this means that, for instance, you could loose your saved sets if you had to reinstall Live on your computer (when upgrading your OS for example...)
Is ther a way to export Live Effects templates?
Is this a known issue? Is this a bug...?
PS both machines are running Max OS 10.2.8, both are ibooks (mine an a 700 Mhz, the other one a 900Mhz).

live 3.0 quits on launching a set saved on another computer
I'm having a similar problem. A colleague has created and saved a set self-contained in Live 3.0 using a PC. When I try to open the set in Live 3.0 OSX I get a message that reads:
"Some input devices used in this Live Set are not available in the current configuration.
These tracks' input devices have been set to None......."
When you hit OK the application quits.
Have not yet tried Tobie's work around.

Tobie,
I want to try your work around but can't find where templates are saved. Could you post the steps you used to work around this problem? Thanks!

that's the problem... i looked for those as well but could not find them anywhere... i had to re-open the session on the computer it was created on, had to delete all the effects where templates had been created, saved the session again and was able to open it on another computer.
I've mailed ableton support but have received no answer as for now...
