Can I switch the hardware MIDI channels from external device

Hi everyone:

I have a performance project recently. All I wanna do is using the V-Drum TD8 MIDI drum as the instrument to paly and trigger sound, music clips through Ableton Live!. Then Arkaos VJ for Videos, Images by virtual MIDI port like MIDI YOKE or ReWire function to follow Live!.

Besides utilizing both Track Active & Scene Launching, I want to trigger nonlinear Clips with the same one 9-pads-set MIDI drum. As you can see, it's hard for me to trigger above 9 different clips at one time. So I plan to assign the 9 trigger pads with different MIDI Channels on different clips. For example:

Drum Pad=Note
Pad1=C1 | Pad2=C#1 | Pad3=D1 | Pad4=D#1 | Pad5=E1 | Pad6=F1 | Pad7=F#1 | Pad8=G1 | Pad9=G#1
on MIDI Channel 1

the same notes of pads
on MIDI Channel 2

So I can have 9x2 pads setting to trigger 18 different clips if I can switch the MIDI Channels of MIDI Drum by external device like foot pads. And my problem is "Can I"?

Use Impulse clips, and swap between different tracks. I use a Behringer FCB1010 to switch between different Impulse drum sets that I play with a MIDI drum controller. Your TD8 only needs to output a single MIDI channel. I use it to fire audio, Arkaos video, and DMX lighting clips and sequences.

If you don't want to use the Impulse cells with sounds, use them via MIDI Yoke to trigger any clip/scene you want. And each track can have a separate MIDI channel. I use all 16.
