Hi all!
I was wondering if it's possible to use ableton to send midi triggers to a VJ.
And if so .... how?
Or is this still something only platikman can do?
Cheers

We have two XP laptops with M-audio firewire audiophiles.
One is running Live, and one is the vj and will need the input.
Untill now we have always worked with Resolume. Just using audio analyser.
We both haven't got any real experience with midi. So what we are looking for are some tips, a starting point, for how midi output works in Live, and how we might be able to use it in a vj application.
For lots of you it's probably some real basic stuff .. but for us it's a new world
Cheers

Just hook up your Audiophiles with a midi cable between them, output on Live computer to input on VJ. Set a track in Live to send midi to the audiophile (output menu on the track) and drop any midi clip on that track -drums perhaps. Start the clip.
Set Resolume to receive midi from the Audiophile. That should be it.
