ABL converts my MP3s to Wavs-I dont like that!!!!!!

High everbody.

In a other Forum we make a whole Communitymix, means, everbody makes a track and integrate it in one Ableton file.

The Problem is, Ableton live converts all my MP3 files in WAV files, so a 3 Minute part of me has 230 MB!!!!!

No problem if you have the data on your HDD, but we transfair our data over web, to other people... you know... after 30 minutes we have then 1GB.... thats not OK

So, is this normal that importet MP3 files (with a big of 32MB) will be convertet to wave files?! (with a big of 230MBs) that doesnt make sense...mp3 to wave- what a nonsens...

I asume thsi not is a bug, and i think ableton use wav for mantian cpu usage very low.
Baed on what i know nd understand, its not possible work only ion mp3 format, ableton can read multiple formats, but all are coverted to wav....

That is correct. Live always converts your MP3s to WAVs when you add them to the project, but it only puts them into your project folder when you ask it to pull all the files in.

you need to go the next step and take your rendered set and convert it MP3. THere are a lot of FREE tools out there to do this. Itunes is but one of them.
