Macrocontrols with VSTs

Post by Amblehn » Sun Jan 21, 2007 8:15 pm

Hey!
I´m new here and I got a question regarding the Live racks. Let´s say I wanted to get a sound that comes from two vsts that I´ve put into a rack. Now, is it possible to control the cutoffs of the two synths with, let´s say Macro 1? And maybe controlling the two VSTs ADSR attack with Macro 2? I´m enabling Map mode but I only see the buttons of the native plugins of Ableton that seems to be able for mapping.

I´ve searched around the forum for macrothreads, but I´ve only come across people who seem to be missing more than eight of these controllers, while I can´t find any use for them if they can´t control a VST´s parameter.

Any help would be appreciated!

shouldn't be a problem, but you have to do the assignments using lives gui for the plugin. click on the little triangle next to the plugins name and expand the live gui then try assigning those to the macros.

Thank you so much for the help! Was thinking of getting myself NI Kore just to be able to do this.

Again, thank you very much.
