that syncing feeling

Post by mattboyslim » Mon Jan 22, 2007 2:55 pm

i've recently started putting a live set together with my production partner. my set up is as below minus the tascam for portability reasons.
He runs a vaio with live 5, an alesis photon x25, a korg padkontrol and a behringer firewire interface.
Ive been set up as the slave as we cant get it to work the other way for some reason. We connect via midi from my uc33 to the korg (and have tried it with the alesis too) and theres a distinct latency issue. Its ever so slight, but means drum sounds on both machines are a no go, so i've been lumped with the synthy parts (which i dont mind much, i'd just like to be able to drop in what i like)

any quick fix solutions to this? will using the tascam help by freeing up the strain on the internal card? or i could use the tascam as the midi routing device. would live 6 help on the vaio?

any help would be massively appreciated
