MIDI mapping won't work in Live 6

Post by patton686 » Mon Jan 22, 2007 6:47 pm

Hey there,

I'm sure it's not a big problem, but here it is:

When I use my Trigger Finger or Oxygen8 in Live for controlling my VSTs, Impulse, any instruments everything works fine. But when I click the MIDI learn mapping function to let's say start a clip, or control any parameter remotely, it enters the mode (everything turns blue), but if I select a function to control, and tap a button on my MIDI controller, nothing happens, the functions doesn't show the little box with the MIDI CC#. It used to in Live 5 but not in 6, don't know why...I tried the trick mentioned in the FAQ saying to click the MIDI button, hit a pad on my TF, hold it while I click the MIDI button again to disable it, and it doesn't work either...Help!!

Hehehehe

Isn't there something you need to enable in preferences in the MIDI section? Not the remote part....and of course I don't have Live in front of me to give you the specifics. Look in the MIDI preferences section as I believe that's all you are missing when wanting to do MIDI mapping. Also the manual should tell you what you want to know for this.

Yes, it sounds like you don't have the right things enabled for the controller.

The top section is for control surface setup, sounds like you may have that all correct. Below, for each MIDI port you can enable it for remote, track, sync. remote is what you want
