Battery 3 opinions?
Battery 3 opinions?
Who's using it, why do you like it, any issues for those on a Mac? Specifically a MBP core2duo?
I'm very interested not just in the plug in, but the included samples too. I need a change of pace from my regular drum samples, and I'm really after some high quality (preferably 24bit) samples of both electronic and acoustic drums. Does Battery deliver there as well?

Battery 3 completely changed the way I do drums....it sounds fantastic to my ears! I find it very easy to use to create realistic drum parts.
So far the only problem I've encountered is that MIDI automation is a little cumbersome, but possibly this is because I haven't figured out the best way yet (only had it 2 weeks).

I totally agree with the above post.
B3 totally changed the way I do drums. The samples are some of the best I've ever heard, really clean, fat, and punchy. Great for acoustic, but NI's strength is electronic sounds, which are really well done for Battery 3. ALso, check out Synthetic Drums 2, some GREAT electronic sounds in there.
For me, the interface is pure gold, and the cell library is a godsend! It's sped up my workflow a lot. It's Way worth the money, though I did have an issue with Logic, and I've seen a lot of posts by both Mac and PC users saying it's really buggy.
I'd say get it. I doubt you'd be disappointed by it. BY FAR my favorite drum program, and next to Logic, my favorite piece of software. If I was gonna take just 1 thing to make musi cwith besides Logic, it'd be Battery (or maybe kontakt

i've been using it with my roland v-drums for years now and it just keeps getting better. it was my main music soft (until Live came around), now its like having 2 girlfriends that also like each other. and so that'd make my v-drums sorta like a..

love it.
I have been a battery user since it was loop a zoid.
battery 3 is very great, and i plan on getting some v drums to control it.

Ordered. Thanks guys. I've had bad luck with NI stuff in the past, but I figure even if the VSTi is totally flaky, I can always sample the drums for use directly in Live like I currently work. $199 for 12Gb of drums is a good deal regardless of the cool interface. I'm desperate for new sounds

I'm trying really hard to feel sorry for somebody who owns a machine drum!Tarekith wrote:Ordered. Thanks guys. Anyhow, yes, I think Battery's worth it for the library alone.
Hey, I can load my Battery samples INTO the Machinedrum, ahaha!
Besides, the downside to this is the fact that I really dislike programming via MIDI. Will be quite the change!
