Rythmic gate?

Rythmic gate?
Does anyone have a decent way to trigger a gate of some kind with a programmed sequence? This would chop the sound at intervals determined by the sequence...

theyre new to the concept
dummy clips uses certain special drivers to route stuff from internal midi channels back into Live.
