Live 6: Library / Reinstall Issues

Havent had a chance to delve too deeply into the new project management system - some aspects of it look pretty good.

However I still dont quite grasp most of it intuitively, and the fact that i know have to make time to study the manual when i get a chance to figure it all out is not a good sign imo

ie. if experienced users are not picking up on this by playing around with this for a few minutes .. probably not the best way it could have been designed I think ..

Main Issue:

Live is forcing us to choose a location for its library, every time we install and / or trash preferences.cfg (which is still fairly often to fix other issues.

And, it wont let us overwrite a previous location, or give an option that assumes we know what we're doing and allows us tell "OK, just use the previous location"

So I now have probably 7 locations I have to track down on my harddrive where its already installed. Its a mess imo.

Why is this?

Issue #2:

When we re-install / trash Preferences ... we lose the location to the previous library.

Which contains any changes or additions we made in the previous install, as well as all imported Sampler sets

Now Im sitting here troubleshooting how to

a. Find out where i installed the previous library (among the 7 or 8 previous ones) ... and ..

b. Figure out how to either point it to that location, or manually transfer over my presets / imports so i can use them again

Again - this is a mess guys.

Can this be improved?

Issue #3:

Manage Library button. Scan times (mention in a previous thread by Tarekeith)

I just waited 10 minutes for it to scan the library. Accidentally closed the X on the browser.

Now its making me scan all over again. Why?

Issue #4:

Related to the above issues ..

I imported a ton of .NKI sample sets for Sampler last week. Had to trash preferences and reinstall to fix another issue with a production set.

I did manage to find my last install of the Library, and locate where the ADV files for my imports are. I manually copied them over to the new Library location just now, hoping I could get them recognized.

I moved them, restarted Live, rescanned my Libary (Manage Libary button)

Not working. Sampler presets are still all blank, no imports.

I spent a half hour of my time importing my sample sets. Dont want to waste more time on this

How do I get them back without redoing all the work? (Im stubborn like that)

This is not a rhetorical question btw How.
