Why the delay when playing samples?

Hi, I find with Live that when i play tracks it often has a few milisecond delay when a new audio sample comes in. the tracks arent CPU heavy at all - no plug-ins - and even if i put the buffer right the way up, it still happens. anyone else had this issue, and how does one solve it?

If you have the global quantise settings on anything other than none, then unless you have spot on timing it will do just that. Turn it off or to a lower setting
