new?
# 17"-diagonal widescreen WXGA+ (1440 x 900) Ultrabright™ LCD screen
# Intel Pentium dual-core processor T2060 operating at 1.60GHz
# 1MB L2 cache
# Up to 533MHz frontside bus
# 1.0GB of DDR2 SDRAM memory (2 x 512MB), upgradable to 2.0GB
Nothing here looks decent to me... Someone's getting screwed on that deal, that's for sure ;)

I've been told, don't upgrade to Vista

Post by dkcalifornia » Sun Jan 28, 2007 3:56 am

Since I own a 64-bit processor I thought maybe I'd pick up Vista. I guess I was under the impression that it was 64-bit, but nope...32-bit (unless you wait for the 64-bit version).

A firmware systems engineer that works here at Dell Corporation told me flat out; "It's ok to buy a new PC with Vista installed, but don't bother upgrading an existing system".

I think my next laptop will be a Mac...lol

I was at Comp USA yesterday, checking out the specs on the lappies that they will be selling on Tues., for the official launch and... they were all running in 32 bit mode! :? All except for one AMD. Wassup with that? Prices weren't posted either... once they put the price on 'em peeps are gonna flee in horror to the Apple store.

I almost promise you that that is supposed to be 999. not 9999. it's a typo.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

To all you naysayers:
I just bought this machine a few days ago, and it fucking ROCKS. I was seriously amazed at the performance. It's faster than EVERY machine I've ever used. It's well worth the $10k.
