Warp Mode?, Groove settings?

Post by Yaca » Sun Jan 28, 2007 11:36 pm

HI
I've been trying live for the past few days and im completely amazed. I have several doubts that havent been cleared by the manual.

The first one is concerning the Groove setting. I understand the groove concept but It seems to me that if your are working with songs for a dj set (songs that were bought and you dont want to mess with how it sounds) you wouldnt need any groove. If im wrong, please correct me, if im right please tell me how to turn it off.

The second is about the warp mode. I like the fact that you can change the tempo of the song without affecting the pitch. HOwever i noticed that when playing songs back in Beats mode a strange vibration could be heard in really strong basslines of in volcals. This vibration only stopped when i changed it to repitch. I also noticed that when changed to repitch the groove was also turned off. Now i dont know if my vibration problems are related to the groove too.

Please help

Welcome to the forum.

1. Groove is to put a swing to a clip. You can set it to "Straight" and then it won't groove at all. The groove amount is set globally up at the top, near the play/record buttons.

2. It's true that warp mode creates artifacts. There are several modes that you can choose. Try the Complex mode for full songs that are warped a lot - this will help.

Thanks for the info and for the welcome.

If i choose straight a clip that was rendered from a complete song that had the groove setting in 8 will it still turn it off or was the groove recorded into the audio track it self at the moment of rendering?

Thanks

Likely the groove gets recorded into the song when rendered.
