studio night fever

Post by The Phat Conductor » Sat Feb 03, 2007 3:27 am

am i the only one who is spending his weekends in the studio while the crew goes out and has fun?

i love producing and all, but it's been over a month since i had any sort of social life and i'm having trouble talking to anyone who isn't a hardcore ableton user.

when comments like 'yeah man, i'd like to modulate HER oscillator if you know what i'm saying.....' start to become gut wrenchingly hilarious you know you have a problem...

god i'm a loser....

Loser eh?
I'm sitting at home with a stanton t60 digging for samples from lou reed to jimi hendrix to the hollies. And uh... I dont even have my sampling system setup yet (let alone the table hooked up to pc). Gotta get the digi001 hooked up, gotta pick up a phono pre-amp, gotta get a few midi controllers.... .

Atleast you're making progress :D I'm still chilling at ground zero.
The more I read about ableton the more complicated and less intuitive it seems. I'll see what the deets are once its all up and running.

I at least went out and saw Ennio Morricone's first ever performance in the USA last night, but then I came home and sat in the studio until 5 AM. Up at 9:30 to keep on where I left off. Why spend money at clubs and bars when you can get a bottle of champagne for yourself, have money left over for plugins, and make your own damn dance party 'til the sun comes up? Yeah, I'm a loser, too. And I live in Manhattan. Where going out is worth it. But I, too, suffer from Studio Night Fever.

Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother,
You're stayin inside, stayin' inside.
Feel the city breakin' and ev'rybody shakin'
and we're stayin' inside, stayin' inside.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, Stayin' Inside.
In my life
Why do I smile
At people who I'd much rather kick in the eye?

me and my homies have a rap group. Me and my homie started rapping. Then i got my cousin into it. but when it comes to recording they r always like "oh ill record later" and they end up not recording. if i could i would write and produce all day making this rap shit happen but im always busy. i do every chance i get. I just got Fast Track Usb audio hub by M-Audio and cant wait to use it. Now my studio is finally complete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

I was at a friend's house one drunken evening (lots of people upstairs), and was looking for my other friend to say hello and take a shot with him or something. I found him in the basement working on music. I tried to talk to him and offer him some beer, but he got really mean and snappy. "the_planet, I can't work on MUSIC when you are down here BOTHERING ME." I felt really dejected and offended, and blew a harmonica in his face about it.

Ass. :x

i so feel everyone on studio fever night... when deciding to go full time with music, i have realized my social life went down hill, potential relationship went down, because i am always busy with dj/production...

there is not enough time in a day for both...its either music or going and getting drunk
