Recording multiple passes of automation

Post by ToneDunce » Sun Feb 11, 2007 11:52 pm

I'm working in Arrangement view to record some synth automation. I'd like to record several passes of it, i.e. first I "ride" the cutoff or whatever, then ride the resonance - you get the idea.

I thought this would be really easy until I tried it - Live overwrites the previous recorded pass (say the cutoff automation) when I start to record into it again. The Overdub mode isn't helping... am I missing something guys? Help!

It shouldn't.

Usually this has to do with MIDI Yoke or IAC with too many ports enabled, or a port enabled for both input and output.

Very interesting!

I do have midi yoke with some enabled ports (which are being used), how would one go about finding the culprit?

I'm going to kill them all and try it before reporting again.

I am having this problem with my remote sl....When loop recording automation in arrangment view the automation data should not be overwritten unless you change the fader or knob.(touch fade?)Anyone know how to make this work right?
