All I'm doing is playing 1 audio track, and 1 virtual instrument (FM7 AU).
I was practicing and a few times the CPU meter spiked to a rediculous number over 100%, and playback glitched.
I have a very simple setup, Titanium G4 1ghz which is more than enough to handle this. No audio warping just straight playback. Using a Alesis Photon X25 USB, with latency set much higher than it needs to be. I've browsed some other posts with similar problems, but no clear solution. I can't have an unreliable setup like this. Does anyone have any clue what the real cause is? It's hard to recreate as I practiced 2 hours and it only happened a few times seemingly random. I'm going to try a firewire interface instead, but this shakes my trust in this mac and live, if it can't handle such a simple task. Other posts seem to indicate this happens with all sorts of hardware even the built-in audio, and PC's.
