start parameter for live 6.0.3?

Hi @ all!

First of all: sorry for my bad english...

I have problems to start Live 6.0.3.
It´s scanning the vst instruments and crashes.
The scan needs lot of time because i pointed the vst root to the hole HDD.
So it doesn´t scan only vst. It´s scanning everything. Games, programs and so on.

Are there any start parameters to disable the vst scan on startup?

Something like "Live 6.0.3.exe -???"

Hi,

You should not set your VST folder to the whole HDD, as that does lead to crashes, everytime. Some system files have the same extension as VSTs.

Now, you'll have to reset your Preferences by deleting the preferences.cfg file from that location:

* Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Application Data\Ableton\Live x.xx\Preferences
* Mac OS X: /Library/Preferences/Ableton

The restart Live.

By the way, there is a 6.0.5 version available, here:

That was not my intention. I´ll better watch twice next time befor pressing ok at the options menu....
