I have a new laptop running windows Vista. I can't get my padKontrol to install properly. I have disabled UAC, I can power the padkontrol from USB and it is recognised in device manager (but has an explanation mark). I have installed the XP drivers for the padKontrol and have also tried to update the driver in device manger...
Any ideas??? PLEASE HELP???
I now have the padkontrol working. When running the standard installer from the padKontrol cd, it was picking up the 64bit driver and not being able to install it. I went through to the driver folder on the cd and ran a different setup program from there and it now works.

hey i got the drivers to work as well but i can't get this think to play any drums... i am a bloody newbie with live and all this midi things...i know i am asking for a lot but is it possible to give me a quick crash course ?? is the superior demo playable ? i managed to put it in live and to see the VST instrument but I can't play anything...
ashhh
I played around with the superior demo for 5 minutes, got it to play 1 sound, and haven't used it since.
The padKontrol comes with a great scene editor which is easy to use.
I have scenes 1 - 3 for drums, scene 4 for the 16 step sequencer available in the show us your racks thread. Scene 5 - 8 mapped for various controls of modmachines from trackteam audio, 9-12 for mackie emulation & 13 - 16 various scales (A minor, c Major etc.)
Type padkontrol into youtube and there is some excellent tutorial videos on there, The guy uses ableton as his software too.

it's all cool !! but i want to take it one step at a time ! do I need some specialised software like EZdrummer or can I use Live somehow to play my drums!
if you have a template that I could download and start pressing buttons on my padkontrol that would be fantastic !
thank you for your help
