normalize isn't working when rendering to disk in 6.0.5

I'm trying to render some unwarped audio clips, and normalize them in the process. I highlight the clip I want to normalize in the arrange window, and select Render to Disk. I select the Master as the rendered track, normalize on. I've tried AIF and WAV options, but nothing works. The rendered track actually comes out slightly lower in volume. There are no plug-ins, and all faders are zero's out. I've tried multiple times and still get the same result - a slightly lower volume clip, with plenty of headroom (the peaks are far below 0 dB).

This is on an iMac Core Duo, OS 10.4.8.

yup,

same here, choosing "normalize" in render window doesn´t do the thing.

i´m on 15" G4 Powerbook, OS 10.3.9 & Live 6.0.5.
