.ASD files = one of the things making my music stutter!

Post by sweetjesus » Wed Feb 28, 2007 7:04 pm

ive been doing some massive testing in the last couple of days especially.

one test was as a result of a problem in which basic multi track renders were glitching out importing to a brand new computer.

this definately shouldnt be the case.. warp is off and no plugins .. yet glitches everywhere.

i had no variables involved other than the .asd files.

i deleted those and now the files play properly.

WTF is going on under the hood???

Interesting...
I'd like to hear ableton explain this one. Have you sent them something direct to their support ?

I am telling you, its how ableton handles clip data that is the primary cause of the stuttering / glitching. ASD's hold the clip data and it is being read into memory / buffers and it is not being handled properly

I have been saying this over and over again, coming up with more and more evidence, and this is just more evidence.

Yes, if you have been following the "glitch stuttering", "slow arrrange" etc threads (long multipage ones) this keeps coming up over and over again in a variety of scenarios

All of them slowly eliminating other third party vendors and external configurations as the primary culprit

Live and the clip data is the most consistant damning factor in just about all of these issues now
