OSX GRMTools VST compatibility issues?

I installed the GRMTools ST demo a while back and it didn't show up in Live, not sure if it was Universal Binary and assumed that must be the problem.....til I installed DSP-Quattro today and it recognised all the plugins along with a couple of others which hadn't been an issue for me as they showed up as AUs as well anyway (SonicBirth, CamelCrusher..)...

The VST folder is set up properly in Live and I've rescanned...I can see a few VSTs in there..

As far as I can see there isn't a problem with the plugins working with my system, is this a known issue with some VSTs in Live? Would love to hook up the GRMTools stuff for a couple of shows while I have the demo period!

(mbp, 10.4.8, live 6.0.5)

Hi sid_sonar,

AFAIK the GRM Tools are still not Universal as well as DSP Quattro (Both webpages don't mention an universal version or update).
If you are running the non-universal DSP Quattro on your MacBookPro, it uses Rosetta to run (http://www.apple.com/rosetta/), this means OS X emulates a PPC Mac on your machine and therefore all your Universal and PPC plug-ins can be used with DSP-Quattro but with quite less performance.

You can check your applications and plug-ins for beeing universal by just marking them and pressing "Apple + I". In the upper section can be seen if its Universal or for PowerPC only.

Thanks a lot, that's saved me a lot of hassle. I'm suprised at how well it worked in Rosetta in that case, I guess I was only using one plug-in though..
Very helpful tip with Apple-I too...
