problem with live 6 and firewire 410

hi everybody. i have a little ploblem and i need to fix it.
my english is really poor so i am going to do my best.
this is the problem:
fw 410 works fine.. playback ok. and monitor analog input without any program works fine. the problems is when i start recording or monitoring in live 6. i configured the 410 in asio. buffer 512. the last driver in m-audio.com.
when i start recording or monitoring the analog input, i can do it for just a few minutes, suddenly a crunch sound (noise ) start. and don't stops until i re-start live 6.
i thought the the problem is the buffer, but i can get better actitude of my fw 410.
i have a dell 6400 t2400 1gbram ati mobility radeon x1300. i use to conect the fw410 my firewire of 4 pins.
i hope someone can help me..

If I understand correctly, you are not alone. I, too, am having trouble with a 410 running into a Dell machine, mine being an Inspiron 9400. Worked fine on my old machine, on my new one I get clicks and dropout, and after a few minutes Ableton stops responding to my DJM800 running through the 410. It may have something to do with the DVD installed on it (strange as this sounds)- several people have already had some success by changing or physically disconnecting it. A few tests are being done and we should have some news on the forum quoted above in the next few days; I'll keep you posted.

i think i had the same problem as you.
what is the brand of your chipset?

mine was a Ricoh, and there was no way i could get my FW410 to work (exactly the same symptoms as you, audio in blocking randomly after some time).
i eventually bought a RME fireface400, all is fine now.

Mine is Ricoh too, but the chipset itself is not to blame, it's the DVD drive. Toshiba Samsung drivers are wonky and disabling it (and the wireless card) in Device Manager clears the problem up. Of course, replacing the DVD does too.....

i have repair the problem... so far...
i get the ableton live 6.0.5 and now i can record well... and the last driver for de 410...
